I didn’t think I was a rose fan either, but a simple question from delicateblu sent me on a sudden “rose rush” to dig out every iteration of that lush flower. Now I’m a believer. Am working up some rose reviews now.

No, sorry. I tested L’Eau du Navigateur, Violette Verte, Mechant Loup and Fou d’Absinthe. I’m not usually a big fan of roses, but I should try that one too.

Well, you’re the perfect person to ask how Ta’if compares to L’Artisan’s Safran Troublant, since both have rose and saffron.

I got a tester when I was in London in October. My nose was exhausted from visiting L’Artisan that morning, so I didn’t try it until I got home. It’s really good. A big hit of pepper, then a saffron rose/florals then a yummy amber. The JO website has a tester package I may order to try more.

I was actually at Ormonde Jayne when I was in London last year, but my strict sniffing agenda did not include roses that time around. Have you tried it? What do you think?

I love this description! But my must try list is getting long! Speaking of interesting roses, have you tried Ta’if?

I must smell my way around Granade and Sanguine – haven’t explored those yet. I found Loukhoum too foodily delicious to actually wear, but couldn’t stop sniffing the blotter strip. Speaking of foodily delicious, anyone who wants to smell like cookies from heaven needs to check out Indult’s Manakara and Tihota frags. They’re not trashy teen-sweet, rather they’re rich and decadent and sophisticated…and sweet.

    Oliban sounds divine!

    I’ve only tried K. Mecheri’s Loukhoum, Granade,and my all-time favorite, Sanguine.

Must seek some Oliban out! Nice review!
