I saw that…but I was a bit confused, cuz I don’t think of musk as “fresh and light”. But it’s all relative….

LOL I think Tom Ford must have had the Coldstone Creamery complaint before. According to NST he’s just realised some lighter fragrances on the theme of musk because he notes that today, were all in the mood for something simple, fresh, light and a little less heavy. Personally I think the market is already saturated with fresh and light. Issey Miyake has that ground very well-covered for a start.

    Just cuz I …
Just cuz I identified the Private Blends “Coldstone Creamery Syndrome” doesn’t mean I don’t subscribe to the “more is more” philosophy myself. I go for dense and complex all the way, babe! So guess again: Amber Absolute and Noir de Noir are my poison. (I was just getting around to answering your front page request for an Amber Absolute review…that one is RIGHT up my furry alley!)

Iris Nobile really is a classy, old-school style perfume. It’s such a deep, rich floral You can’t do a “body splash” application on that one, that’s a cert.

Someone on a perfume blog said Moss Breeches was like a rose being swallowed by a giant toad, which is spot on! If you’d like a less jam packed Tom Ford, then I guess the Neroli Portofino and Champaca Absolute are your faves? My problem with the Tom Fords is just their ridiculous price. The shop assistant says many people layer them…are these people minting their own money?!

Rose Alex is a plain rose, orange blossom (almost equal parts to my nose) and musk. Not terribly interesting, but very pretty and classy. It is currently my ‘default’ perfume. Take away some rose, add iris, anise and a touch of womanliness and you get Iris Nobile, which is beutiful, but you get a headache if you over-apply.

Doh…yes how could I forget that one! Love it too, but I do have a problem in that it makes me smell like I have BO…too much cumin. I could have done with a pinch less!

    Thanks for that …
Thanks for that handy list! I think Kenzo Magnolia is a great, fresh orange blossom for summer, and have a review of that coming up soon.

I’m also a devotee of Tom Ford Private Blends, even though some of them suffer from “Coldstone Creamery Syndrome”: too many yummy ingredients piled onto one little ice cream cone. But I admire the chutzpah!

Curious that you put Rose Alexandrie & Iris Nobile in with orange blossoms…? Tell me more!

There are lots I like: L’Artisan Fleur D’Oranger is probably my favourite, but I should also mention Tom Ford Neroli Portofino (I’m crazy about the Tom Ford Private Blends in general), Jo Malone Orange Blossom, Armani Prive Rose Alexandrie and Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile

If you love orange blossom notes, this is a good time to be a perfume nut! Have you tried Kenzo Eau de Fleur de Magnolia and Annick Goutal Un Matin d’Orage (technically no orange blossoms in there, but it still has that neroli/jasmine “thing”)?

What are your favorite orange blossom fragrances?

Nice to see someone doing a vlog! NR for Her is the perfume I wear most often. And I’m a huge perfume nut, so that is really saying something! I love the way it smells cold, like shards of wood surrounding me. I find it medicinal but also soft and feminine. Plus I’m a sucker for orange blossom notes.

I got the sample last month and i gotta say that the smeel is sooo lovely and it lasts long. The longer it lasts, the nicer the smell is. I haven’t bought this one yet but it’s already in my list. Anyway, i’m so disappointed by J’adore Dior. Though it seems like it’s quite a hit perfume, but I won’t recommend this. CK Be is nice too! =)

aharieebayybee16, Sephora are great for offering samples of whatever you’re interested in – I’d check it out there if I were you.

And if you fall in love with it (or any fragrance), you can often snag great discounts on the Internet!

Also, check out Chanel Égoïste, which I think might hit the “Lovely” spot for you. Égoïste is nominally for men, but its rose-vanilla-sandalwood blend smells beautiful on us gals. Besides, a lot of men find it “too girly” for them to wear, so that tells you something!
